Throughout the year, the Foundation receives support and generosity as part of regular donations and associated with special fundraising events.

The Foundation is an Illinois not-for- profit corporation and is designated as a 501(c) 3 organization under the Internal Revenue Service code. An independent accounting firm audits the Foundation annually.

If you choose to give, you may give an unrestricted financial gift, or designate how you want the money spent. This can include specific purchases or for the support of specific programs. Additionally, by sponsoring one of our special events and fundraisers (see Events), you or your company can receive special recognition in the publications and marketing materials targeted to our communities, to our participants and attendees at fundraisers.

There are numerous ways to give:

• Giving by Mail:
  Donations are tax deductible to the extent provided under the law. They can be mailed to:

• Double your gift with an employer matching contribution:
  Check with your employer to see if they will match any donation you give to WSSRF or call WSSRF for a list of such companies. Hundreds of local and national employers have such a program that doubles or matches your donation.
  
• Make a tribute or memorial to someone special:
  Honor that special person for a birthday, anniversary, graduation, or retirement with a commemorative gift. Express your sympathy through a memorial gift for a loved one, friend or business associate.
  
• Planned Giving:
  Remember WSSRF through a direct bequest in a will or through a financial vehicle planned through your lifetime providing tax deductions and ensuring our programs will be there in the future.
